About Desert Leaf Foundation

The Desert Leaf Foundation works to revive the social, cultural, and educational landscape primarily in the State of Rajasthan, beginning with its hometown, Jodhpur. The Foundation aims to engage with people to create meaningful experiences which unfurl free expression, rejuvenate the ethnic performing arts, and bring anything and everything that pushes us to think beyond our daily necessities and paradigms.

About Ayla & Mimansha

Thorr Collective, founded in Jodhpur under the desert sun, is led by two kindred minds: Mimansha Charan, a writer, translator, and researcher born in Jodhpur whose work bridges environmental humanities and vernacular knowledge systems; and Dr. Ayla Joncheere, a cultural anthropologist and artist affiliated with Ghent University, IIT Jodhpur, and Poornima University, whose decades of engagement with Rajasthani performing arts and oral traditions shape Thorr’s ethnographic and community-driven ethos. Together, they root Thorr as a living ecosystem—where art, research, and education grow collectively, guided by care, collaboration, and imagination.
